A Prince in Paradise: A Royal Wedding
Why we love it ❤️
This is the exact kind of low stakes royal fantasy that makes you want to put your phone away and just watch two pretty people fall in love against a castle backdrop. Olivia is not sitting around waiting to be saved, she is the one cracking the whole case wide open while also planning her own wedding, and that girl deserves a standing ovation. Lord Renshaw is deliciously petty in the way only a royal movie villain can be, and you will love hating him. The chemistry between Olivia and Alexander is soft and easy, none of that forced tension, just two people who actually like each other. If you grew up on Princess Diaries reruns this one is going to feel like coming home.
What is A Prince in Paradise: A Royal Wedding about?
Prince Alexander (Mitchell Bourke) is ready to marry Olivia Perkins (Rhiannon Fish), a commoner and romance writer, when the disgruntled Lord Renshaw (Ian Bolt) invokes an obscure ancient law to try to stop the union. Olivia uses her research skills to track down a hidden diary tucked inside an old volume of royal history. Inside is a long forgotten truth that could undo Renshaw's plan and save the wedding. With the ceremony date closing in, Olivia and Alexander work together to piece together the mystery before time runs out. Directed by Adrian Powers, the film moves between royal tradition, family pressure, and one very inconvenient legal loophole.
