Daisy Edgar-Jones as Elinor Dashwood is casting that makes complete sense and we are not emotionally ready. Georgia Oakley directing means this is not going to be the safe pretty version of Austen, and that is a choice we fully respect. Elinor holds everything together for everyone and says nothing and the moment she finally doesn't is the whole film. Esmé Creed-Miles as Marianne is the opposite energy and the contrast between them is the entire point. this one is going to hurt.
What is Sense and Sensibility about?
Elinor (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and Marianne (Esmé Creed-Miles) Dashwood are forced from their family home after their father's death and must start over with far less money and far more feelings than either is prepared to handle. Caitríona Balfe plays their mother. Directed by Georgia Oakley (Blue Jean), this is a new adaptation of Jane Austen's 1811 novel.
