The Body

Why we love it ❤️

A Catholic school dance troupe initiation that spirals into full blown community chaos is such a wild premise and it is executed with so much control. Anya, Elise, and Lisbeth feel like real teenage girls caught in something way bigger than they signed up for, and watching their friendship get tested under that pressure is genuinely gripping. Quinn Shephard directing gives this such a specific, unsettling atmosphere, it is coming of age but with real teeth. There is something so satisfying about watching girls at the center of chaos nobody expected them to cause. If you like your coming of age stories a little unhinged and a lot dramatic, this one delivers in full.

What is The Body about?

The Body is a coming of age drama about a Catholic school dance troupe led by students including Anya Butler (Kristina Bogic), Elise Zakaria (Sara Boustany), and Lisbeth Anderson (Geena Meszaros). During a group initiation ritual, something goes wrong, and the incident spirals into a larger event that affects the entire community. Nnamdi Asomugha plays Father Franklin, a school figure connected to the fallout. The series shows the girls dealing with the consequences of the ritual gone wrong and how it changes the world around them. Directed by Quinn Shephard, the show blends coming of age drama with elements of mass hysteria.
