She's the ManMovie · 2006

Listen, if you haven't seen Amanda Bynes absolutely nail the "pretending to be a dude" trope, you're missing out. This movie serves up peak 2000s rom-com vibes with a side of soccer shenanigans and a young, very swoon-worthy Channing Tatum. The whole "she's crushing on her roommate who's crushing on someone else who's crushing on her alter ego" thing? Chef's kiss. It's pure chaotic fun with a surprisingly sweet core that still holds up.
Viola Hastings, a talented soccer player, finds herself without a team after the girls' squad is cut. When her twin brother Sebastian secretly bails on his new boarding school, Viola seizes the opportunity to take his place, disguised as him, to prove girls can play just as well as boys. Navigating the new school as "Sebastian," she falls for her handsome roommate, Duke, who in turn is crushing on Olivia, who has developed feelings for the disguised Viola. Things get even more complicated when the real Sebastian returns early, completely unaware of his sister's elaborate charade. It's a classic mistaken identity romp with a sporty twist.
