What is Dirty Dancing about?

Seventeen-year-old Frances "Baby" Houseman is facing a summer of boredom with her family at a Catskills resort in 1963. Her plans change when she stumbles upon the staff's secret, late-night dance parties. There, she meets the resort's charismatic and rebellious dance instructor, Johnny Castle. When Johnny's professional partner is sidelined, Baby unexpectedly steps in, not only learning to dance but also falling into a passionate, forbidden romance that challenges her sheltered upbringing and the social norms of the time.
