A Filipina nurse running the most chaotic haunted ward in LA while a suspicious and way too familiar supernatural presence keeps showing up is a premise that fully commits to what it is. Jelynn Sophia as Noa carries the whole thing with a very specific combination of exhausted professionalism and genuine unease that is extremely watchable. The coworker who knows her better than anyone should is doing so much work in that description. Something is going on there and we want to know what it is.
What is Nurse the Dead about?
Noa Reyes (Jelynn Sophia) is a driven Filipina nurse assigned to the most haunted ward in Los Angeles. She can see the dead, which means managing unruly patient ghosts falls on her shoulders alongside her regular duties. Things get more complicated when a presence she knows as Grim (Anthony Jennings) keeps appearing with an unsettling amount of knowledge about her life. The eight-episode first season premiered June 12.
