Juvenescence

Why we love it ❤️

Four best friends spiraling out in the last few weeks of high school is such a specific kind of chaos and this movie gets every bit of it right. Henry, Will, Max, and Richard feel like actual people you went to school with, the one who overthinks everything, the one who pretends nothing matters, you know exactly who is who within five minutes. It has that end of an era feeling where every dumb decision suddenly feels enormous because you know the group is about to scatter. The comedy is genuinely funny but it sneaks in some real feelings about growing apart from people you thought you would know forever. If your friend group had a whole era that ended the second graduation happened, you are going to feel personally called out by this one.

What is Juvenescence about?

Juvenescence spends time with four teenagers, Henry, Will, Max, and Richard, played by Massimo Di Napoli, Dominic Cutrone, Max Mohr, and Jonah Nethercott, during their final days at Edgewater High in Australia. The comedy shows what happens as the four friends realize their whole world is about to change once school ends. Director Mitchell Law focuses on the small, chaotic moments of senior year rather than one big dramatic event. Friendships get tested, plans get made and immediately fall apart, and each of the four has to figure out who he is outside the group. It is a coming of age story built around one tight friend group instead of a single main character.
