Moon Choi and Son Seok-koo have the kind of chemistry that sneaks up on you completely. Two people who have every reason to keep their distance instead choose to lean in, one aching scene at a time. Audrey's healing arc hits different because it never feels rushed or performative, she gets to be messy and guarded and still worthy of love. Son Seok-koo playing the guy who caused the accident and somehow becoming the love interest is a wild swing that actually pays off. Bring tissues for the parts with her parents and bring your whole heart for the parts with Eli. This one earns its ending.
What is Bedford Park about?
Audrey, played by Moon Choi, is a Korean American woman in her thirties still carrying the weight of an abusive childhood. When her mother is hurt in a car accident, Audrey has to return to her parents' home in Bedford Park. There she meets Eli, played by Son Seok-koo, the man behind the wheel that day. What starts as guilt and obligation between them slowly turns into something neither expected. Director Stephanie Ahn traces how Audrey lets someone in while still working through her past with her parents, played by Won Mi-kyung and Kim Eung-soo.
